Sacramental Preparation

Adult Initiation into the Catholic Church

Baptism, Confirmation, and the Eucharist are the doors through which one symbolically enters the Catholic Church. Interested adults should contact a member of the pastoral team at the office. After a period of informal inquiry, you could decide to commence the Catechumenate – a period of learning about the Catholic Faith. During this time you would be invited to join the Friday morning biblical catechesis or another course of instruction.

Ending with a period of personal retreat the catechumenate climaxes in the celebration of the Baptism, Confirmation, and the Eucharist at Easter.

Baptized Christians from other traditions who wish to become full members of the Catholic Church are also invited to begin a modified process that will lead to reception into full communion with the Catholic Church, Confirmation and reception of the Eucharist.

Baptism of Children

For baptism of infants and small children up to the age of five years, parents should contact the office at least six weeks in advance to make arrangements. For the baptism of children 6 and older parents should both contact the church office some months in advance and also enroll the child in the appropriate religion and sacramental preparation classes as determined in discussion with the priest or deacon.

The Sacrament of Matrimony

Couples are asked to contact Fr. Kevin at least six months prior to the time you intend to marry to arrange a personal meeting with the priest or deacon. In addition, you will be asked to attend a pre-marriage seminar.

Seminars schedules will be made known as they become available.

Sunday Children Liturgies

During the Sunday Mass at the Church, all school aged children who wish may take part in a special Children’s Liturgy of the Word. On most Sundays of the school year the children are invited to a side room shortly after the beginning of Mass to hear the Gospel presented to them at their own level.
