Sunday Masses for January 2009

Until further notice, Sunday masses for the month of January 2009 will continue to be held at the usual time of 11:00 a.m. at the Votive Church.

The first whole community catechesis for 2009 will be on January 11 at Ebendorferstrasse at 9:45 a.m.

Holiday masses for New Year’s Day, January 1 and Epiphany, also known as Three Kings, January 6 have been scheduled at 12 noon in the St. Francis of Assisi Church at Mexikoplatz in Vienna’s second district.

The St. Francis of Assisi Mexikoplatz is the imposing church at the foot of the Reichsbrücke. It is easy to get to – just around the corner from the Vorgartenstrasse stop along the U1 underground line. There is ample street parking around the church and Mexikoplatz itself.

Office Move

office-movingAs of 1st of January 2009, the VESCC office is located at the offices of the Karlskirche at Kreuzherrengasse 1, 1040 Vienna, Austria. The street is the one just behind the Karlskirche church.

Please watch this site for further details on the office relocation.

In the meantime, the VESCC community needs volunteers (preferably with strong backs and cars) to transport boxes from Rooseveltplatz to Kreuzherrengasse during the big move this Saturday, 20 December. If you can help, please call Fr. Kevin directly on his mobile phone.

Christmas Carolling

carollingAs has been a tradition for several years, our community did Christmas carolling again this year at Clara Fey Kinderdorf, a home for handicapped children. The caroling took place on Sunday, 14 December at 3:00 p.m. For this year’s carolling, the community joined members of the Vienna International Center Club Filipino (VICFF) choir, which led the carolling effort. Children and teens, young and old joined the carolling.
